Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Location: Garfield Heights, Ohio

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

Job Description

• Must have a minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience in a permanent position prior to travel assignment.
• Shift options available: 4x12, 3x12, or 2x12 (auto offer).
• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication exam must be passed during orientation.
• One recent reference required from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty applied for (Charge RN references accepted).
• All start date, scheduling, and shift details must be confirmed at submission and are non-negotiable.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Background and Compliance

• Background check required prior to start, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months, updated annually; must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract.
• Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start.
• Nursys verification within 30 days of start.
• References: 2 references from employment within 1 year of start, from management-level personnel.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam must include latex allergy notification if applicable.
• Eye exam (Snellen) valid within 1 year.
• Immunization records must be official and include boosters if titers are negative or equivocal.
• Flu vaccine documentation required by November 30th for current candidates; new candidates onboarded between Nov 30 and Mar 31 must also submit documentation.
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines must be approved and submitted through proper channels.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome; modules cannot be completed on a phone.
• Candidates with a break of less than 6 months since their last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation exams and module requirements.
• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment.
• Medication and ECG competency exams are required for all bedside RNs except OR RNs.
• Candidates must be prepared for a non-negotiable, auto-offer scheduling system.
