Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Medford, Oregon
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights (Friday night shift extends into Saturday morning)
Weekend Requirement: Yes (Friday night shift)
Float: No floating between units
On-call: No

Job Description
- Position requires coverage of night shifts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday only.
- No Saturday or Sunday night shifts required.
- Scrubs provided for certain departments; general staff may wear any color scrubs.
- Parking is free.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Polysomnographer license in Oregon.
- Minimum of 1 year of Polysomnographer experience.
- Polysomnographer experience within the last year.
Certifications (as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable).
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable).
- IV Certification (if applicable).
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable).
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable).
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification (if applicable).
Note: Certification requirements may vary; verify with clinical track or unit-specific requirements.
Required Documents & Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- E-Verify attestation.
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript) as applicable.
- State-specific searches as required (e.g., Oregon Abuse/Neglect Search if applicable).
- NURSYS verification for RN licenses (if applicable).
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; updated annually.
- Immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer or declination).
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer or declination).
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates; involves virtual questionnaire and medical review.
- Fit mask testing not required for Polysomnographer/Sleep Techs.
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists updated annually (if applicable).
- Color blindness testing only if specifically requested.
Additional Requirements
- Block scheduling required.
- No 48-hour shifts approved.
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required; traveler may be asked to float to other nearby facilities within the region.
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
Notes
- This is a travel/contract position with a fixed 16-week duration.
- The position is strictly night shifts on specified days with no weekend overnight coverage beyond Friday night.
- No on-call or floating responsibilities.
- Electronic charting is done via Epic.
