Registered Nurse - ER (Weston, Florida)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse, Emergency Room (ER)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week for 3x12 shifts
- Floating: May be required to float within scope as needed
- Weekend Requirement: As needed
- Block schedule accommodation: Not available
- Locals accepted at same rate
- On-call: Not required
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
- Background check: 7-year criminal history check within 1 year of start, updated annually, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
- Seasonal influenza vaccination required during flu season (10/31–3/31), no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions allowed
- COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
Onboarding & Training
- Must complete all required online training modules by due date prior to start (access provided after contract signing)
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content cannot be skipped
- Pass/Fail testing on EKG and Pharmacology administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
- Medication and competency exams required as applicable
- HIPAA training and acknowledgment required
Additional Requirements
- Must be nicotine-free (smoke-free facility) with negative nicotine (cotinine) test required
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel nurses
- Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
- Performance evaluation on file if worked with the agency for over 1 year
Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
- Facility issues radiation badges if applicable
- Candidates with a break greater than 6 months between assignments at this facility may need to re-orient and complete modules again
