Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Brownsville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

Unit Type: Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)
Number of Beds: 11
Staffing: 8 RNs total
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
- Night Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
Patient Care Model: Team Nursing
Equipment: Standard Emergency Department equipment
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Job Description & Responsibilities

Provide emergency nursing care across all triage levels
Perform phlebotomy
Support airway management and intubation
Assist with splinting and immobilization
Monitor moderate sedation and recovery
Assist with wound care and laceration repair
Participate in cardiac monitoring, code response, and resuscitation support

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
