Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)

Location: Brownsville, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED)
  • Number of Beds: 11
  • Staffing: 8 RNs total
  • Shift Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
    • Night Shift: 2 RNs, 1 ED Physician, 1 Radiology Tech, security officer on campus 12 pm–4 am
  • Patient Care Model: Team Nursing
  • Equipment: Standard Emergency Department equipment
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency nursing care across all triage levels
  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Support airway management and intubation
  • Assist with splinting and immobilization
  • Monitor moderate sedation and recovery
  • Assist with wound care and laceration repair
  • Participate in cardiac monitoring, code response, and resuscitation support

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
    • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
    • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
