Description

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Day (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) or Night (7:00 PM – 6:30 AM)


Job Description

  • Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as needed
  • Float to ICU and Intermediate Care (IMC) units required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in District of Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

  • Valid driver’s license required if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function
  • Background checks include federal, state, county, and education verifications, plus ongoing monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Annual safety manual acknowledgement required
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 23 – March 31)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced critical care environment with flexibility to float to related units

Work Hours

  • 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each)
  • Shift options: Day or Night

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs with strong cardiac skills and certification readiness, seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity CVICU setting.
