Description
Registered Nurse (IMC/ICU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Clinton, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in Intermediate Care (IMC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with floating to ICU, Emergency Department (ED), and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts rotating day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) over a six-week period.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care (IMC) experience within the last year.
- Minimum 1 year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment.
- Education verification for highest degree required by position.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple substances.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start.
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or T-spot) within 1 year; additional documentation if history of TB.
- Immunization documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept-Mar).
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
- Photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).
- Annual safety manual acknowledgement.
- References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Rotating 12-hour shifts covering day and night.
- Floating between IMC, ICU, ED, and Med Surg units as needed.
- Must be able to work 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period.
- Must maintain all required certifications and complete competency exams as scheduled.
