Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Asheboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday to Friday
Setting: Outpatient

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
• Ideal candidate is registered in both Echo and Vascular; candidates with only Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification and Echo experience will also be considered.
• Adult patient experience required.
• Utilize PACS and Philips imaging systems.
• Work with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Procedures include: Abdominal Aorta, Aorta, Arterial Graft Studies, Carotid, Color Flow, Doppler Studies, Duplex, Lower Extremity Arterial & Venous, M-Mode, Renal Artery Duplex, Transcranial Doppler, Upper Extremity Arterial & Venous.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Echo Technologist experience.
• Echo Technologist experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment.
• Must be registered by either ARDMS or CCI.
• Must hold RCS or RVS credentials.
• Experience working with adult patients.

Certifications & Exams

• Must have current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC).
• Must have current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC).
• Pass/fail EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam required with a minimum score of 82%; two attempts allowed.
• Must complete EPIC test with a passing score (80% or higher), two attempts allowed.
• Must acknowledge orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing requirements.
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit; verify with program management if unclear.

Compliance & Health Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start.
• Proof of adult Tdap vaccination required.
• TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray if positive history.
• Immunization or positive titer proof for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B.
• Annual fit mask test (N95 respirators approved) required.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
• Physical exam may be required depending on agency.

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
• Compliance documents must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date.
• Candidate must be aware of and agree to outpatient setting.
• Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here).
• Facility will not accept any open hits on background checks; all cases must be cleared before start.
• Foreign education requires equivalency evaluation documentation.
• Education verification must be completed by a third party and meet strict facility standards.
• Candidate must review and sign facility dress code.
• Candidate must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form.
