Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

  • Greenville, South Carolina

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift
  • 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Patient Population

  • Adults and Geriatrics

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Must have Trauma Level 1 experience
  • 1 year of EPIC charting experience required

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license for South Carolina (must be in hand before start)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross, RQI acceptable)
  • BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross, RQI acceptable)

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Adult Critical Care
  • Experience with:
    • Extubation, nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
    • Pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
    • Tracheostomy care
    • Administration of respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, combivent, flovent, inhaled steroids, ispurel, lidocaine, perforomist, pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, xopenex
    • Medication delivery via aerosol mask, trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler
    • Use of handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
    • High flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
    • BiPaP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation

Floating Policy

  • Floating to other units or campuses may be required as needed, limited to areas where qualified and competent

Scheduling and Call-Off Policy

  • All scheduling requests must be submitted with application and approved at booking
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Candidate Requirements and Notes

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
