Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location

• Greenbelt, Maryland
• Service area includes Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Charles County, and St Marys County
• Assignments based on zip codes within these counties

Employment Type

• Travel/Contract position
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8, 40 hours per week)

Job Description

• Provide home health nursing care using OASIS E & HCHB PointCare EMR systems (experience required)
• May be asked to float to cover other zip codes as needed
• Use of personal vehicle required for travel between patients; mileage reimbursed
• Reliable vehicle with proper licensure and insurance required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with OASIS documentation system

Orientation

• Orientation sessions held every Monday

Health and Safety Requirements

• Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunization documentation required for:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March)
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) covering multiple substances
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Background and Compliance Checks

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment
• Education verification of highest degree required by position
• I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates
• Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (80% passing score required)
• Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)

Additional Notes

• Mileage reimbursement provided for travel between patients
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and meet all licensure and insurance requirements for driving
• Float coverage may be requested to other zip codes within the service area
• Documentation such as photo for badge and various attestations required prior to start
