Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location
- Greenbelt, Maryland
- Service area includes Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Charles County, and St Marys County
- Assignments based on zip codes within these counties
Employment Type
- Travel/Contract position
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8, 40 hours per week)
Job Description
- Provide home health nursing care using OASIS E & HCHB PointCare EMR systems (experience required)
- May be asked to float to cover other zip codes as needed
- Use of personal vehicle required for travel between patients; mileage reimbursed
- Reliable vehicle with proper licensure and insurance required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with OASIS documentation system
Orientation
- Orientation sessions held every Monday
Health and Safety Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
- Immunization documentation required for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept–March)
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana) covering multiple substances
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Background and Compliance Checks
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment
- Education verification of highest degree required by position
- I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates
- Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (80% passing score required)
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person)
Additional Notes
- Mileage reimbursement provided for travel between patients
- Candidates must have reliable transportation and meet all licensure and insurance requirements for driving
- Float coverage may be requested to other zip codes within the service area
- Documentation such as photo for badge and various attestations required prior to start
This position is ideal for RNs with home health experience, proficiency in OASIS E, and a desire to work in a travel nursing role within Maryland’s specified counties.
