Dietitian Travel/Contract Job in South Carolina

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week)
• Units Covered: Adult medical, surgical, and ICU units
• Floating: Required as needed
• First-time travelers accepted based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License (required ASAP for computer access and must be carried on duty)
• Background check covering 7 years, completed within 12 months of start date
• E-Verify or attestation
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
• Primary source verification of South Carolina dietetics license (no pending actions; must be current within 30 days of start)
• Highest level of education verification (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands (required if gap of 30+ days between contracts)
• Drug screening within 1 year and updated annually (5-panel minimum)
• Immunization and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years if working/floating in high-risk areas
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption (required annually; remote workers exempt)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (second vaccine must be completed within 28 days if pending)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
• Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
• Badge photo meeting facility specifications (passport style, light background, no obstructions)

Orientation and Training

• Completion of online orientation modules within 72 hours of assignment (16 hours non-billable orientation onsite)
• Pre-assignment testing (medication and competency exams) must be completed within 72 hours of receiving login information; two attempts allowed
• Annual core competencies training (Parts I, II, III) including universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA blood-borne pathogens, and TJC National Patient Safety Goals
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required annually
• Floating policy acknowledgment required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to float to other units as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome if they meet experience and certification requirements
• EPIC experience is mandatory for this role
• All certifications must be current and not expire within 30 days of start date
• Remote work is not applicable for this position
