Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Largo, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Acute care hospital respiratory therapy department with approximately 290 beds and 21 staff members.
• Day shift: 6 therapists plus a supervisor; Night shift: 4 therapists.
• Patient care involves ventilator management and critical care skills.
• Equipment includes Servo and 840 ventilators.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in use.
• Typical procedures:

  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) from arterial lines and sticks
  • Assisting with intubations, codes, and rapid responses
• Work environment values team players who like to stay busy.

Schedule & Work Expectations

• Scheduled according to facility policy.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech EMR.
• Prior ventilator experience.
