Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Canton, Ohio
Shift: Night shift, three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including labor/induction patients, circulating role in OB-OR, and antepartum assignments.
• Experience working in Labor and Delivery required.
• Orientation (32-40 hours) included, with assessments on ECG rhythm recognition and Safe Medicate during orientation (passing scores required).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing required.
• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunizations and documentation required:

  • Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months, with annual updates)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (required annually; no declinations accepted)
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start.

Background and Compliance

• Background check required prior to start, including FCRA-compliant 7-year search and education verification.
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months, updated annually. Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.

Documentation and Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried on assignment.
• Completion of onboarding modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be watched before testing).
• Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
• Two professional references required from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
• Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history, with 2 years in acute care and similar area.

Additional Information

• Orientation time paid at 50% of base hourly rate.
• Hours worked submitted via Qualivis – Lotus One system.
• Facility accommodates latex allergies; notification required to ensure latex-free gloves stocked.
• Candidates with name changes must have consistent legal names on all documents.
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams.
