Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Full-scope Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) RN role in an 8-bed unit.
- Provide care across Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum/Couplet Care.
- Responsible for intrapartum management including induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation, and circulating C-sections.
- Participate in immediate newborn stabilization and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Perform routine newborn assessments and postpartum/couplet care for stable mothers and infants.
- Must function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting.
- Flexibility to transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs.
- Floating within Women’s Services.
- Patient ratios: 1:1 during labor, 3:1 for couplet care.
- Must work one major holiday if assignment overlaps.
- Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period.
- No call, no 48-hour option, no block guarantee (attempts made to accommodate).
Shift Details
- Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Participation in neonatal resuscitation.
- Ability to circulate C-sections.
- Competency in high-risk labor management, including Pitocin titration.
Additional Information
- Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility.
- EMR systems used: GE Centricity Perinatal (CPN) and Medhost for orders, charges, and medication scanning.
- Scrub color: Navy blue or pink.
