Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Granbury, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Full-scope Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) RN role in an 8-bed unit.
  • Provide care across Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum/Couplet Care.
  • Responsible for intrapartum management including induction/augmentation, high-risk labor monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation, and circulating C-sections.
  • Participate in immediate newborn stabilization and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Perform routine newborn assessments and postpartum/couplet care for stable mothers and infants.
  • Must function independently in a low-volume, high-acuity rural setting.
  • Flexibility to transition between labor, nursery, and couplet assignments based on census and staffing needs.
  • Floating within Women’s Services.
  • Patient ratios: 1:1 during labor, 3:1 for couplet care.
  • Must work one major holiday if assignment overlaps.
  • Maximum requested time off: 6 days within a 6-week period.
  • No call, no 48-hour option, no block guarantee (attempts made to accommodate).

Shift Details

  • Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Participation in neonatal resuscitation.
  • Ability to circulate C-sections.
  • Competency in high-risk labor management, including Pitocin titration.

Additional Information

  • Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • EMR systems used: GE Centricity Perinatal (CPN) and Medhost for orders, charges, and medication scanning.
  • Scrub color: Navy blue or pink.
