MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Avon, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (17:00 - 3:30)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- On-Call: Yes; weekend call every 6 weeks
- Floating: Must be willing to float between similar units
- Holiday Work: Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Block Schedule: Potentially negotiable
Unit & Equipment
- Department has 2 Siemens Magnatom Aera MRI machines with syngo MR XA30 software
- Facility is a 250-bed short-term acute care hospital with emergency, inpatient, and observation patients
- Exams include Neuro, MSK, Body, MRA (Breast and Cardiac studies are NOT scanned in this position)
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free
Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ARRT or ARMRIT certification
- Experience with PACS
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background checks including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date
- Fit mask test within 12 months with approved respirators (N95 or Honeywell models)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TB test within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
- Color blindness test (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
- Skills checklist and competency exams required annually
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted (within 50 miles radius)
- Must be able to work with emergency and inpatient populations
- Must complete facility-specific packets and orientation tests before starting
- Must be able to work with Cerner electronic charting system
This position is suitable for first-time travel MRI techs.
