Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Tomball, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• 6-bed Emergency Room unit
• Staff includes 8 RNs, 4 Paramedics, 4 Radiology Techs, and 1 Ultrasound Tech
• Day and night shifts each staffed with 2 RNs, 1 Paramedic, 1 Rad Tech, and 1 Physician
• Patient-to-nurse ratio approximately 4:1, utilizing team nursing
• Equipment includes Lucas Device, EKG Machine, BiPaP, Glidescope, and general ER supplies
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is also required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in freestanding emergency departments
• Lab experience

Typical Procedures

• Standard emergency care
• EKG monitoring
• Blood draws
• Medication administration

Work Schedule & Policies

• 36 hours per week
• Rotating weekends required
• On-call available if necessary (not mandatory)
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Adherence to standard unit and organizational policies and guidelines
