Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Contract Position

Location: Aberdeen, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week, primarily day shifts (8-hour shifts)
Shift Details: Hours vary according to the OR schedule; on-call hours required
Holidays: Normally off unless on-call

Position Overview

• Provide support to the Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Day Surgery areas
• Maintain cleanliness, asepsis, and sanitation of assigned areas following department procedures
• Assist with preparation of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
• May assist with clerical or non-nursing administrative duties as assigned
• Accountable to the Director of Surgical Services or Surgery Charge RN in their absence

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Washington
• Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (CST)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Physical Requirements

• Lift 40 pounds from floor to waist and from chair to bed level
• Pull 50 pounds from stretcher to bed
• Push 50-pound stretcher for 300 feet
• Lift 5 pounds overhead
