Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgery

Location: Margate, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Number of Beds: 2 rooms
Staffing: 1 RN and 1 Tech on day shift; 2 RNs and 1 Tech on call
Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:1
Equipment Used: Impella, ECMO, Bypass pump, Laser (lead extraction), EVH, Rapid Transfuser
Documentation System: Meditech
Call Requirements: On-call duties are split and depend on staffing availability
Dress Code: OR scrubs provided by the unit

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Proficiency in all surgical service lines

Additional Information

Rotating weekends may be required
RN responsibilities include observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care
The unit is part of a 228-bed hospital recognized as a Joint Commission top-performing hospital since 1980, certified as a primary stroke center and Blue Distinction Stroke Center, with specialized surgical programs including Open Heart, 24-hour adult and pediatric ER, orthopedics, robotics, women’s services, and rehabilitation
