Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Titusville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: June 29
- Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 7 PM to 7 AM)
- Hours per Week: 48
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Yes, within scope
- Block Schedule: Considered on a case-by-case basis
- Return to Office (RTO) Parameters:
- RTO allowed for no more than 10 days
- Requires an additional 2 weeks added to assignment length
- No RTO during first or last week of assignment
- Local Traveler Restriction: Candidates must live more than 30 miles from the facility
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
- Minimum 2.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least 2 previous travel nursing assignments
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Stroke nursing experience
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- NIH Stroke Certification (except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred but not required
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Florida with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 6 months including:
- Social Security Trace
- County, Nationwide, and National Sex Offender checks
- Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN degree required)
- Motor Vehicle Record if driving is part of the job
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Education verification or transcript/diploma as placeholder if pending
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
- Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu (vaccination or declination)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption (medical or religious)
- Completion of facility-specific job description and orientation modules prior to start
- Completion of Non-Employee Orientation Quiz and related forms (time sensitive)
- Review and sign various facility-specific acknowledgments and policies (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free, vaccination program)
- Two professional references within two years of start
- Performance evaluation within the last year if previously assigned through any agency
- Skills checklist required
Additional Job Expectations
- Must adhere to dress code: any scrub color allowed, no tee shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations
- Charting system used: Meditech
- Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
- Strict attendance policy:
- 3 call-outs result in termination
- Shift change refusals with less than 48 hours’ notice may forfeit guaranteed hours
- Shift change refusals with 1 week or more notice may result in termination
- Holiday work requirements:
- If 1-2 holidays fall within assignment, must work 1 evening and 1 holiday shift
- If 3 holidays fall within assignment, must work 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts
