Description

Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse

Location: Tucker, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
  • Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
  • Conduct home visits with an average patient load of 5-8 patients per day.
  • Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, and Follow-up Visits.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate (patient-to-patient travel compensated, commute to/from first and last patient is not).
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours). Some positions may have alternate schedules such as 4x10 shifts.
  • Charting systems used: HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and Oasis (RNs required to be proficient).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Home Health setting within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Proficiency and experience with OASIS documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete a comprehensive background check including:
    • 7-year history verification of locations lived/worked/studied.
    • Sex offender and state-specific registry searches.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
    • Fingerprinting as required by state (varies by location).
  • Education verification for nursing degree required.
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, confirming good health and no communicable diseases.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Immunization or titer proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug test required.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required.
  • Two professional references required.
  • Verification of work history for at least the last 7 years or two most recent employers.
  • Must have personal or auto insurance policy under candidate’s name or list candidate as a driver (required for home health placements).

  • Candidates must review and sign multiple compliance documents prior to start, including but not limited to:
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality and Privacy Policies (HIPAA)
    • Compliance Training Certification
    • Home Health Core Policy Acknowledgement and Scenarios
    • COVID-19 Policy and Attestation
    • Employee Responsibility Agreement
    • Various state-specific forms and attestations as applicable
  • Supplier packets must be signed at the start of each assignment and annually if working more than one consecutive year.

On-Call and Weekend Requirements

  • On-call and weekend requirements vary by location and must be discussed during the interview process.

Notes

  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
  • Guaranteed hours are not provided; if patient census is low, floating to a nearby clinic may be arranged to pick up hours.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required, but first-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
