Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Contract)
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Variable Shift
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery with the ability to circulate and float to Mother Baby unit (including couplets) and other units as a safety companion.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess patient needs, plan and implement patient and family education, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Practice modified primary nursing and promote a safe environment.
- Participate in professional development and leadership within the nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Essential Job Functions
- Collect comprehensive patient data and analyze to determine diagnoses.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Promote health and safety in the care environment.
- Continuously improve nursing practice quality and effectiveness.
- Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Integrate ethical standards and research findings into practice.
- Provide leadership within the professional nursing setting.
Schedule Requirements
- Regular and sustained attendance required.
- May work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours.
- On-call duties may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Repeated standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional sitting for extended periods.
- Rare climbing of ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Continuous fine finger movements and close visual acuity.
- Continuous cognitive skills including learning new tasks, maintaining focus, and making timely decisions.
Exposure Risks
- Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation (in imaging areas), chemicals, medications, cleaning agents, disinfectants, and infectious diseases.
- Emotional challenges related to patient and family interactions.
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered.
- The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of labor and delivery nursing experience preferred.
Prior Travel Experience
