Description

Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Location: Next to Operating Room, 2nd Floor, Main Hospital Building
Number of Beds: 26
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
Staff Composition:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse and usually a float nurse
- Night Shift: Closed; on-call coverage by 2 PACU nurses
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
Floating Area: Day Surgery
Dress Code: Royal Blue or Hospital Scrubs
Unit Guidelines: ASPAN Guidelines followed
Equipment: State-of-the-art technology available
Staff: Experienced and supportive team

Job Requirements

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

ICU experience strongly preferred
PACU experience required
Familiarity with surgical procedures including General, Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Vascular surgeries

Work Schedule

Approximately 36 hours per week
Includes weekend and night call coverage
