Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Night Shift)

Location

  • Jacksonville, Texas

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift
  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Total 36 hours per week

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred (not mandatory but advantageous)

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI)

Licensure

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
  • Primary source online license verification required (e.g., NURSYS)

Required Documents & Verifications

  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • E-Verify compliance (for direct hires)
  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start date, updated annually
  • Education verification (highest level of education)
  • Work history verification for the past 7 years
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • TB questionnaire if applicable
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
    • Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Completion of employment application/resume
  • Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, color blindness, core competencies)
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance

Restrictions

  • Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience
  • Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
