Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU (Night Shift)

Location: Jupiter, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) during night shifts (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Float to Cardiovascular Stepdown (CV SD) and ICU South (used for PCU overflow) as needed
• Care level: Critical Care Stepdown

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency contact form prior to start
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year residence/work/school history
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (annual)
  • HHS/OIG (annual)
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required before start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting recommended)
• Physical exam within 6 months to 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start (new contracts only; may complete on site if not available)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step TB skin test or equivalent within 3 months acceptable)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or vaccination (per birth year guidelines)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccine series, or declination with negative titer
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox
• Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days to 1 year of start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required year-round
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required (dose 1 and fully vaccinated dose 2 if applicable); exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 3 years (for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable, including:

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for all RNs)

Work Environment

• Night shift, 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
• Floating between PCU, Cardiovascular Stepdown, and ICU South units as needed
