Job Opportunity: Orthopedic Surgical Technologist

Location

• Salem, Massachusetts

Employment Type

• Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (40 hours per week)
• 10-hour shifts with call 2-4 times per month
• May float to other services within the operating room unit

Unit Description

• Operating Room with 12 ORs
• Wide array of services including a robust Orthopedic total joint program

• All patient types

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross

Education & Certification Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA or NCCT only)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association only)
• Current professional license/certification with primary source verification (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)

Required Documentation & Health Clearances

• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity proof
• Tuberculosis (TB) test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry checks
• Social Security Number trace covering last 7 years
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists
• Verification of highest level of education achieved
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher in the skillset
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
• Candidate submission coversheet for initial assignment
