Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

• Loxahatchee, Florida

Employment Type

• Travel contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Hours per week: 36

Unit Information

• Unit size: 12 beds
• Staff on unit: 5-8 (including Director, permanent RRTs, and per diem help)
• Day shift: Director, lead RRT, 2-3 RRTs
• Night shift: On-call team (varies by volume)
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 2:1
• Equipment used: Oxygen cylinders and concentrators, nebulizer, suction machine, CPAP & BiPAP machines
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech

Job Description

• Provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, emphysema
• Work in a fast-paced, critical care environment
• Collaborate closely with physicians and team members
• Maintain an active disciplinary approach and patient care focus
• Team-oriented, critical thinker personality preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS
• Meditech EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Dress code: Gray scrubs for Respiratory Therapy
• Patient care setting: 204-bed acute care medical/surgical facility with specialties including cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and women’s services

Preferred Qualifications

• Stroke education and experience
