Description
Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Saginaw, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Afternoons
Hours per Day: 12
Job Description
- Perform as a surgical technologist in the Operating Room, demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are available, assembled correctly, and in working condition for surgical procedures.
- Confirm and assemble sterile instruments properly; maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout procedures.
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs and assist accordingly.
- Keep accurate accounts of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges on the sterile field.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills related to surgical procedures and verify items on physician preference cards.
- Properly use, assemble, clean, and sterilize equipment and disposables.
- Set up sterile fields in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Active NBSTSA Certification.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
