Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location

• Madison, Wisconsin

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shifts, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (option to extend to 26 weeks)
• Schedule includes every other weekend rotation, holidays, and one on-call shift every 6 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (AHA) required
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required depending on unit assignment (check unit-specific requirements)
• Facility-specific telemetry testing and competency exams may be required for certain units

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background check within 90 days prior to start date, including SSN trace and nationwide sex offender search
• Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID form completion required
• Education verification of respiratory therapy program graduation
• Drug screening per Vaya standards (clinical candidates)
• Physical exam and immunization documentation as per facility standards (including TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccination or approved exemptions)
• Facility-specific forms such as communicable disease form, flu exemption forms, and vaccine waivers may be required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical or religious exemptions allowed
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or documented declination form
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)

Additional Information

• Photo for badge required (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
• Facility requires completion of specific competency exams and telemetry tests prior to start and annually thereafter
• References: Two clinical references within the last 3 years required (Aya standard)
