Description
Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Must have experience in Neuro surgical services.
- Position may float between units, including outpatient surgical center.
- On-call required to meet department needs; can include weeknights or weekends.
- Weekend on-call required.
- Expected nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1.
- Proficient in scrubbing pediatric, ENT, and plastic surgery cases.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Washington
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- Recent Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
Background & Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- Must include SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, education verification, and motor vehicle record if applicable.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
- State-specific searches required for Washington and border states.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination acceptable).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow masking policies.
Competencies & Training
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required based on specialty.
- Color blind testing may be required on a unit basis.
- Epic charting system training required; candidates must complete Epic modules within a week of orientation.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp).
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; candidate may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance.
