EEG Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: Rotating weekends, approximately one weekend per month or less
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform EEG technician duties with a focus on respiratory and neuro diagnostics.
- Documentation system used: Medconnect.
- Travel radius: within 60 miles of the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of EEG Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment or one month of per diem work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC).
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required if driving is an essential job function.
- Must complete I9/E-Verify attestation prior to start.
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including federal, state, and county searches. Background checks must be updated every 3 years or after a 6-month gap.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple substances; positive results reviewed by Medical Review Officer. New drug screen required if break in service exceeds 6 months.
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease, signed by MD, PA, NP, or DO.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon, or Tspot) within 1 year; if history of TB, additional documentation required. Annual TB questionnaire required for all candidates.
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: documentation of 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella: documentation of 2 VZV vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B: titer, series, or signed declination.
- Tdap vaccine within the last 10 years preferred.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (September 23 – March 31).
Training and Competency
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
- Annual competency exams required, including medication/pharmacology and general competency tests.
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person).
Additional Notes
- Start dates available: June 15 or June 29, with preference for ASAP start.
- Facility requires clear, professional photo for badge issuance.
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and annual acknowledgments, including safety manuals.
