Description

Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Huntersville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Interventional Radiology with expertise in cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures. The role involves scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during complex cardiac and vascular interventions. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
  • Scrub experience in 3 or 4 scrub procedures
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Electrophysiology Lab experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (07:00 - 17:30)
  • Hours per week: 40 hours
  • Ratios:
    • Days: 1:4-6
    • Nights/Weekends: 1:3
  • Call Requirement: 8 weekdays and 2 weekends in a 6-week period (occasionally more)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, 2 weekends per 6-week period
  • Float Requirement: Must be flexible to float, including to nearby facilities as needed

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

  • Background Checks: Local county, federal court, national criminal database, DOJ sex offender search, education verification (highest degree specific to profession)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
    • Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
    • Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative)
    • Immunizations/titers: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with facility-specific declination if applicable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Competency Exams:
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (must pass with 82% or higher within 72 hours of start)
    • Medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Facility Specific Documents:
    • Confidentiality agreement
    • Education roster and annual compliance training
    • Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation (for NC and SC as applicable)
    • Badge photo submission (passport style, white background, business attire)
    • Radiation badge required for cath lab and interventional radiology staff
    • Corporate ID and I-Learn account setup with proof of login prior to start
    • Hospital policies and acknowledgements

Additional Notes

  • RTO (Return to Office) after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; excessive call-offs or RTO may result in cancellation
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  • IV start skills preferred but not required

This position is ideal for a skilled Interventional Radiology RN with solid procedural experience and prior travel assignments, ready to work in a fast-paced cardiac cath and EP lab environment.
