Speech Pathologist

Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

Provide quality speech and/or language therapy services primarily to a Native American population for rehabilitation of patients with developmental, cognitive, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. Services include inpatient and outpatient care. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results for patients from birth through geriatric.
  • Developing and adjusting speech therapy treatment plans based on physician referral or consultation.
  • Documenting assessments, treatments, follow-ups, and termination of services in electronic health records.
  • Delivering specialty services such as swallowing evaluations (Videofluoroscopy, Modified Barium Swallowing, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing), cognitive and voice treatments, pediatric speech/language and feeding evaluations.
  • Conducting specialty clinics including geriatric and assistive technology/adaptive equipment evaluations.
  • Providing training and in-services for students and staff.
  • Collaborating with the Physical Rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintaining medical staff credentialing core privileges.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Arizona
  • Speech Language Pathologist (2 years of experience)
  • Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Additional Information

  • Orientation occurs every 2 weeks.
  • COVID and flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form.
  • Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.
  • Weekend services are not available at this time.
