Description
Surgical Tech - North Dakota
Job Overview
- Location: Fargo, ND
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Evenings (typically 1 pm to 9 pm)
- Hours: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week
- Call: 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends; may need to stay late as cases run over (this is an extension of the regular shift, not call back)
- Facility has 25 OR suites with an average of 75 to 100 cases per day
Job Duties
- Assist surgeons and healthcare team members in providing effective surgical care in the operating room
- Primary focus on neurosurgery cases, with additional assistance in orthopedics, ENT, plastics, general surgery, and some trauma cases
- Perform surgical and OR duties according to established policies and procedures
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Surgical Technician license in North Dakota
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Strong neuro surgical tech skills required
- Experience working in a large hospital with level 1 trauma designation
- Experience in a busy acute care facility with more than 15 OR suites (facility has 25)
- Robotics experience
- Experience with at least one of the following orthopedic systems: Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, or Stryker total replacements
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Must be on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at least one week prior to start (proof of initiation of application process required within 3 business days of offer acceptance)
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
- Candidates living 60 to 80 miles away may be considered with adjusted local travel rate
- Must note in submission if previously worked for this facility; if so, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
This position is ideal for surgical techs with strong neuro skills and experience in a high-volume, level 1 trauma hospital setting who are comfortable working evenings with occasional extended hours.
