Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Delivery Room
- Beds: 26
- Staff: 112 total
- Day Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Team Lead), 14 nurses, 2-3 support techs, 2 unit clerks
- Night Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Team Lead), 12 nurses, 2 support techs, 1 unit clerk
- Patient Ratios:
- 1:1 for high-risk labor and C-sections
- 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, PTL on magnesium, postpartum on magnesium
- 1:3 for postpartum magnesium without baby, outpatients
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, CPN (GE) monitor
- EMR System: Meditech / CPN
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience circulating in C-sections
- High-risk Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR) experience

- C-sections
- Inductions
- Artificial Rupture of Membranes (AROM)
- Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) use
- Daily Fetal Monitoring (DFM) and Doppler assessments
