Radiology Technologist – Acute Care

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Overnight, week on/week off
Hours per Week: 36


Position Summary

Provide diagnostic imaging services including X-rays to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. Perform radiographic exams, fluoroscopic procedures, and related techniques in various hospital settings such as OR, Trauma, NICU, CCU, and ED.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Montana
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as requested
  • Assist with US-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, arthrocentesis, and fluoroscopically guided PICC placements
  • Provide patient education on preparation and post-care for radiology procedures
  • Complete documentation for exam interpretation, reporting, archiving, and billing
  • Retrieve and verify written orders and related health information
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with education requirements
  • Educate radiography students, new hires, and peers on diagnostic and operative procedures

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; assist patients and carry equipment
  • Work extended hours including sitting, walking, or standing for 8+ hours daily
  • Flexible schedule with potential for weekend, after-hours, and on-call shifts
  • Handle stressful and emotionally challenging situations with professionalism and tact
  • Perform repetitive tasks as required

Additional Information

  • Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
