Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Overview

• Unit: Cardiac Medical Unit (Cardiac step-down from CSSU and IVCU, med/surg telemetry, stroke overflow)
• Beds: 20
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Staffing: 4 RN teams with free CNC, 2 LNA’s, and a Unit Clerk
• Equipment: IV pumps, Sara steady’s, Hi-flow, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
• Scheduling: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, plus every other weekend or 4-week shift rotation
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift rounds and handoff required
• Unit Restrictions: Cannot take patients post Cath lab unless radial artery used; no chest pain rule out, CHF, COPD patients
• Procedures on Unit: Thoracentesis, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD), Tracheostomies, Pacemakers, Cardiac Catheterization, CIWA protocol
• Certifications Required on Unit: ASLS, BLS
• Hospital Certifications: STEMI Hospital, Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center
• Dress Code: Professional uniform required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
