Medical Laboratory Technician (Midnight Shift) - Illinois

Job Description

• Generalist laboratory role including phlebotomy
• Collects, processes, and receives specimens (blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
• Evaluates and solves problems related to specimen collection and processing for all age ranges
• Participates in evaluating new lab techniques and procedures considering personnel, equipment, cost, and reference intervals
• Writes and revises technical procedures
• Performs complex laboratory procedures, recognizes deviations from expected results, and troubleshoots using scientific principles
• Analyzes quality control data and takes appropriate actions to maintain accuracy and precision
• Responds to inquiries about test results, methodology, specificity, sensitivity, and influencing factors
• Monitors instrument indicators and temperature controls for lab departments
• Maintains self-competency in laboratory skills

Required Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• CLS or ASCP certification
• Bachelor's degree required, or Associate's degree for grandfathered personnel
