Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Location: Herrin, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• Provide patient assessments to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible persons.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance nursing skills.
• Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict through professional communication.
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
• Weekend work expected every other weekend, specifically Friday and Saturday nights (Sunday nights are not considered weekend).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Specialty Areas (Relevant Certifications/Experience)

• Progressive Care Unit experience required.
• Experience or certification in related areas such as Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Services, Emergency Room, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatrics, and Infusion Therapy is beneficial but not mandatory.
