Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating late shifts
- Schedule: No weekends, no call requirements; staff rotate staying late if cases extend into the evening
- Holiday: Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational)
- Charting System: Epic required
- Locals Allowed: Yes, if living 50-99.9 miles from the facility (one 13-week contract approval)
- Travelers: First-time travelers accepted
- Residency Requirement: Must live at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s license address
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- ARRT (R) with Virginia state license OR CCI RCES/RCIS certification
- Virginia state license or emergency authorization accepted for travelers while permanent license is processing
Required Clinical Skills & Experience
- Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and EP mapping
- Proficient in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
- Cardiac background knowledge
- Experience with fluoroscopy, Siemens, Ultrasound, Phillips, Carto Ensite, Cardiolab equipment
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
Required Qualifications
- Electrophysiology Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- ARRT (R) certification or CCI certification
- Proficient in dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Driver’s License/State ID with address verifying residency radius (required within 48 hours of signing)
- Background check covering 7 years of residence/employment history (must be within 1 year of start)
- E-Verify or attestation required
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit test for mask within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Required to complete facility-specific new hire paperwork and orientation materials prior to start
- Professional photo for badge (no selfies or filters)
- Two clinical references required
- Skills checklist updated annually
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges for new candidates are supplied by the facility, not the agency
- Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence
- The EP lab operates with six state-of-the-art cath labs performing advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
