Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Oncology Clinic
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an outpatient oncology clinic setting focused on medical oncology and non-malignant hematology patients.
- Role primarily involves triage duties: coordinating care, patient education, follow-up, and communicating results with patients.
- Assigned to 1-2 providers, managing patient interactions and care coordination.
- No chemotherapy or infusion administration required at this facility.
- Float to similar centers/clinics as needed.
- No call or weekend requirements.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shifts: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Patient Load & Unit Details
- Approximately 20 patient visits per day
- 4 exam rooms available
- Use of EPIC electronic health record system is required
- SBAR communication method utilized
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, including oncology experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- Skills in chemotherapy administration and IV starts (preferred but not required)
Additional Information
- Interview with hiring manager required prior to offer
- Orientation and scheduling are per clinic needs
- No special equipment required
- Candidates must comply with all required background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific documentation prior to start
- Drug screening within 6 months of start date required
- Immunization and health requirements include TB testing, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Mandatory completion of facility-specific education and compliance training modules before starting assignment
- Photo for badge must be submitted promptly after contract signing to avoid start delays
- Candidates must complete required competency exams and training as applicable
Important Notes
- No return-to-office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
- Locals are accepted for this assignment
- Flu vaccination exemptions require medical or religious documentation and mask-wearing if approved
