Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

• Largo, Florida

• Travel assignment

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Scheduled according to facility policy
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff

Unit Information

• Respiratory therapy unit with approximately 21 staff members
• Day shift: 6 therapists plus a supervisor
• Night shift: 4 therapists
• Patient ratio and workload support a busy environment
• Equipment used includes Servo and 840 ventilators
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in use

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, NBRC
• Completion of Respiratory Therapist Competency Exam or USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech EMR system
• Prior ventilator experience

Typical Procedures

• Nebulizer treatments
• Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) from arterial lines and sticks
• Assisting with intubations, codes, and rapid response situations
