Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN for a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) specializing in Medical, Neuro, and Surgical intensive care. The unit provides care for neuro and intensive care patients with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3.


Work Schedule

  • Shift: 18:30 to 07:00 (overnight)
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
  • Weekend hours: Every other weekend
  • Call: Not required
  • Float: As needed

Unit & Equipment

  • ICU management including ventilators, arterial lines, central venous lines (CVLs), etc.
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alabama
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support)

Patient Care

  • Care for critically ill patients in medical, neuro, and surgical intensive care
  • Patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity

Dress Code

  • Scrubs mandatory
  • Scrub color: Navy
