Description
Registered Nurse – Inpatient Wound/Ostomy (Certified WOCN)
Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift (8 hours, Monday to Friday)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
- Serve as a consultant to staff and patients regarding skin prevention, wounds, ostomies, and continence care.
- Act as a liaison between patients and staff, supporting effective communication and teamwork.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, families, physicians, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate emotional resilience, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and professionalism in patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
- Board certification in wound, ostomy, and continence nursing (WOCN).
- Minimum of 3 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and liaison.
- High level of mental and emotional tolerance when working with ill patients.
- Professional attitude and sound judgment in all interactions.
