Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Number of Beds: 44
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, stretched to 5:1
Equipment Used: IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, Chest tubes, Tracheostomies, Patient lifts
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Cerner
Floating Areas: Stepdown units, Med-surg units
Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Neuro Trauma experience

Additional Notes

This role involves working in a progressive care environment with a focus on neuro and trauma patients.
Candidates without the required certifications and neuro/trauma care experience will not be considered.
