Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit) - Asheville, NC (Travel)

Job Overview

• Employment Type: Travel
• Location: Asheville, North Carolina
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 2nd floor, 20 beds
• Patient Population: Mixed medical-surgical and step-down patients, including short stay (<24 hr LOS) with quick turnover
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 (stretch), depending on level of care
• Equipment: Telemetry monitoring with bedside hardwired monitors
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Unit Staffing

• Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Telemetry experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Expectations

• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required; no on-call duties
• Dress Code: Navy and/or white scrub tops with navy or all-white bottoms
• Personality Fit: Positive attitude, patient experience focused, kind, compassionate, and a team player
