Description

Inpatient Pharmacist Travel/Contract Position

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM), 5 days per week, 40 hours total
Weekend Requirement: Yes
Start Date: ASAP


Job Description

  • Provide inpatient pharmacy services during day shifts.
  • Open to first-time travel pharmacists.
  • Block scheduling accommodations possible depending on shift.
  • No on-call duties required.
  • Time off restrictions are negotiable.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in Tennessee.
  • Pharmacist with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Pharmacist experience within the last year.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months.
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declination form required if declined)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations accepted only under specific circumstances)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox; boosters or declination if negative/equivocal)
    • Flu vaccine required annually during flu season (10/1–3/31) or approved exemption form.
    • Hepatitis A required only for select departments (not mandatory for this role unless specified).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months or appropriate PPD testing.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug test with alcohol screening within 1 year of start and updated annually.
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection required prior to orientation.
  • Facility-specific photo for badge required (recent, plain background, shoulders up, no filters).

References and Evaluations

  • Two professional references required within 2 years for travel positions.
  • Performance and internal evaluations required if previously employed with the facility for over 1 or 2 years respectively.
  • Complete employment application and skills checklist as applicable.
