Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Location: South Hill, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services in an inpatient acute care hospital setting.
• Must have experience working in acute/inpatient care environments.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia.
• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapist experience.
• Physical Therapist experience within the last year.
• Experience in an Acute Care setting.
• Experience in an Inpatient setting.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including all states lived/worked in past 7 years and nationwide checks.
• Virginia State Police fingerprinting required for certain units; proof of submission must be on file prior to start.
• Completion of Virginia Central Registry (CPS) search process within 48 hours of contract signing; may start with results pending if proof of submission is provided.
• Education verification required; degree must be from an accredited program.
• Two professional references required.
• Completion of skills checklist annually.
• Completion of required competency exams and abuse reporting competency.
• HIPAA confidentiality agreement required prior to start.

Orientation and Facility Specifics

• Orientation includes pharmacology exam, point of care testing, airborne precaution mask fitting, and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) for applicable staff.
• Assigned learning modules must be completed during orientation week (~6 hours).
• Candidates must provide a compliant photo for badge issuance prior to document due date.
• Candidates should bring a mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and a laptop or cell phone to orientation (notify if not available).
