Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg (Adult) – Night Shift

Location: St Johnsbury, Vermont
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift (7pm – 7am), three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours), including every other weekend

Job Overview

• Provide nursing care primarily for adult patients with occasional pediatric patients on a general Med/Surg unit.
• Care settings include medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and utilize the Nursing Process to make critical patient care decisions.
• Focus on holistic care addressing patients’ physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, developmental, and age-related needs.
• Accountable to the Unit Director and work closely with Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor.
• This is not a pediatric floor; pediatric patients are occasional only. Pediatric-only RNs should not apply.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Vermont
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 3 years Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification

• Start date: June 24, 2026.
• Credentialing documents must be submitted at least five business days before the start date.
• Orientation week may have adjusted hours due to midweek start.
