Description
Registered Nurse (PCU/IMC/Stepdown) - Travel/Contract
Location: Leonardtown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required (schedule directed by unit)
Float Requirement: Must float to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed (ratios 1:5 or 1:6)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intermediate Care (IMC), or Stepdown units.
- Night shift coverage with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
- Must be able to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as operational needs require.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of 1 or more travel nursing assignments.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function.
- Successful completion of background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal/statewide searches.
- I9/E-Verify attestation required.
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
- Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date.
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency.
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
Additional Notes
- The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5 or 1:6.
- Candidates local within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate (not included here).
- Candidates must be prepared for night shifts and floating responsibilities.
- Facility requires strict adherence to all health and safety documentation and certifications.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with PCU/IMC/Stepdown background who have prior travel nursing experience and are comfortable working night shifts with floating duties.
