Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (Days)

Job Overview

• Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Illinois and Iowa state nursing licenses required.
• Current driver’s license.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
• License verification and copy of required certifications.
• One supervisory reference required at time of submission.
• Must have experience managing chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines.
• Medication experience required with amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, isuprel, milrinone, and argatroban, including some titration.
• Must have a taxable address outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac and open heart experience.
• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed.

Orientation

• Orientation sessions offered regularly throughout the year on specified dates.

Additional Information

• Night shift bonus: 16 hours.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.
• Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply.
• Call back and on-call pay available.
• Charge/preceptor pay available.
• Not eligible if employed by the facility within the last 12 months.

• Rock Island facility is a Level 1 trauma center.
