Description

Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)

Location: Thornton, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery
  • Beds: 14 LDRPs and 2 ORs
  • Staff: Approximately 60 total
  • Day Shift Staffing: 1 charge RN, 2-3 Labor & Delivery RNs, 2-3 Postpartum RNs
  • Night Shift Staffing: 1 charge RN, 2-3 Labor & Delivery RNs, 2-3 Postpartum RNs
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2 maximum
    • Postpartum: 3:1 (per AWHONN guidelines)
  • Equipment: Beacon fetal monitoring system
  • EMR System: Meditech / CPN

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Current certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • AWHONN certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Meditech EMR experience
  • Postpartum nursing experience

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Vaginal deliveries, including assisted deliveries
  • Cesarean sections (C-sections)
  • Dilation and curettage (D&C) procedures
